Apple's hit comedy series "Ted Lasso" secures back-to-back Emmy victories for Outstanding Comedy Series, affirming its status among the greatest comedies ever produced, at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards
In a stunning display of recognition, several Apple Original series made a significant impact at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards. Here's a rundown of the notable wins:
"Ted Lasso", starring Jason Sudeikis as an American football coach managing a British soccer team, took home the Outstanding Comedy Series award for its second season. Sudeikis also won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance. Brett Goldstein was recognised with the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series award for his role in the series. MJ Delaney won Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for "Ted Lasso".
Another Apple Original, "Severance", written and created by Dan Erickson, won Outstanding Main Title Design. The series, starring Adam Scott as a team leader at Lumon Industries, also took home the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) award.
The dramatic mystery series "Home Before Dark", inspired by the reporting of a young investigative journalist, Hilde Lysiak, co-created by Dana Fox and Dara Resnik, won Outstanding Motion Design. It was also executive produced by Jon M. Chu, Dana Fox, Joy Gorman Wettels, Howard Deutch, Dara Resnik, Russel Friend, Garrett Lerner, and Sharlene Martin.
"Carpool Karaoke: The Series", the popular singing game show, won Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series, and Outstanding Main Title Design. The fifth season of the series features celebrities such as Simu Liu, Jessica Henwick, Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario, Sydney Sweeney, Anitta, Saweetie, Zooey Deschanel, Jonathan Scott, the stars of All Elite Wrestling, and the D'Amelio family.
Lastly, the new musical comedy series "Schmigadoon!", co-created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, won Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. The series stars Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key.
