New Look for the Streamer - Apple TV: Streaming Service Gets New Name Ahead of F1 Film Premiere
Apple has updated its streaming service, renaming it Apple TV. The change comes ahead of the premiere of 'F1: The Film' and follows a price increase in the US for the Apple TV device.
The price of Apple TV in the US has risen from $9.99 to $12.99 in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Apple has rebranded its streaming service from Apple TV+ to simply Apple TV. This move coincides with the upcoming streaming debut of 'F1: The Film'.
Apple is not alone in altering its streaming service's name. Last year, WarnerMedia and Discovery merged and dropped 'HBO' from their platform, renaming it Max. However, in July 2024, the HBO title returned to the streaming service. Currently, Apple's streaming service is known as Apple TV, with the full rollout of the name change still in progress. Some third-party services continue to use the old name, Apple TV+.
Apple TV, previously Apple TV+, has a new dynamic identity. The switch to the new name is not yet complete on all third-party platforms, with the full rollout still underway.
