Apple News presents the podcast discussion led by Brendan Hunt and Rebecca Lowe, titled After the Whistle

Apple News is set to become the go-to destination for soccer enthusiasts during the upcoming World Cup tournament. The tech giant has announced a new podcast, "After the Whistle with Brendan Hunt and Rebecca Lowe", presented by Apple News.

The podcast, produced by Li.sten in collaboration with Apple News and Meadowlark Media, will recap all the exciting moments of the World Cup, battle out allegiances to the American and English teams, and break down key plays, wins, upsets, off-field moments, and more.

Brendan Hunt, an actor and co-creator of the multi-Emmy Award-winning Apple TV+ series "Ted Lasso", and Rebecca Lowe, a seasoned soccer host with nearly two decades of experience in the UK and the US, will host the limited series following the World Cup tournament.

With iOS 16, Apple News introduced a new My Sports section, allowing users to easily follow their favourite teams and leagues. Users can now find and follow their favourite World Cup teams in Apple News to keep up on all the happenings throughout the tournament.

In addition to the podcast, users can access stories from hundreds of top publishers, scores, schedules, and standings for the top professional and college leagues, and watch highlights right in the News app on Apple News. Apple News is the most used news app in the countries where it is available, including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Services, expressed his enthusiasm for the podcast, stating that Apple loves soccer and is proud to offer users great ways to follow the World Cup with the podcast.

The "After the Whistle with Brendan Hunt and Rebecca Lowe" podcast will premiere on November 17, 2022, and will be available for free in Apple News for users in the US and in Apple Podcasts for users in 103 countries and regions.
