Titled: Steve Jobs' Signed Apple II Manual Sells for a Fortune

In an exhilarating turn of events, a Boston-based auction house, RR Auction, sold a 196-page Apple II manual, meticulously signed by none other than Steve Jobs, for an immense $787,484.

The page-turner publication, adorned with Steve Jobs' signature, was dedicated to Julian Brewer, the son of an entrepreneur who collaborated with Apple to distribute their products in the United Kingdom. The Apple II manual is noteworthy for its meticulous "Julian, your generation is the first to grow up with computers. Change the world!" inscription, penned by the innovative pioneer himself in 1980.

Notably, Mike Markkula, a renowned figure in the early days of Apple and its former CEO, also appended his signature to the contract. RR Auction revealed that Jobs and Markkula signed the manual during their marketing expedition in the United Kingdom for Apple.

Julian Brewer, reflecting on the memorable encounter with Jobs and Markkula, recounted his story, "I was writing games on my Apple II in my bedroom when my father summoned me to meet some guests. Surprisingly, Steve Jobs and Mike Markkula arrived. I took this autographed book with me, and I later realized how uncommon it was for Jobs to sign anything, let alone write such an inscription. I share a close bond with my father, and so I believe the heartfelt inscription was penned thoughtfully."

Introduced in 1977, the groundbreaking Apple II is often hailed as Apple's first breakthrough product and a pioneer in the mass market computer entry. The iconic VisiCalc, the first computer spreadsheet, was developed for the Apple II in 1979, propelling the popularity of computers in the business sector.

RR Auction expressed, "While the Apple I was primarily marketed to enthusiasts and fewer than 200 units were manufactured, the Apple II truly transformed the world, introducing Personal Computing to approximately 6 million households and businesses. The revenue from the Apple II fueled Apple's successful start and IPO."

The Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay clinched the winning bid for the rare Apple II manual. Irsay, who finds himself in the company of history's greatest and most innovative minds, noted, "Steve Jobs is undeniably amongst the giants of the previous two centuries. He was an icon and a transformative figure who has significantly shaped the way people communicate, conduct business, and interrelate every day."

RR Auction also facilitated the sale of other Apple-related memorabilia, such as a sarcastic letter from Steve Jobs who commented, "I fear I can't sign it," accompanying an untitled illustration. The collector's item sold for a whopping $479,939.
