Apple and Major League Soccer are set to launch the MLS Season Pass on February 1, 2023.
The Major League Soccer (MLS) is set to revolutionize the way fans watch their favourite teams with the launch of MLS Season Pass. This new subscription service, set to debut on February 1, 2023, marks the start of a 10-year partnership between MLS and Apple.
All 29 MLS clubs will have the Apple TV patch in a different colour, signifying the league's commitment to this innovative venture. The service will be accessible on billions of devices through the Apple TV app on Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes, game consoles, and the web.
With MLS Season Pass, soccer enthusiasts worldwide, excluding the United States and Canada, can watch MLS games, playoffs, and the Leagues Cup. Regions like Australia, the Middle East, Spain, Germany, and South Korea have additional agreements to air Sunday Night Soccer matches starting in 2025.
Matches will primarily take place on Saturdays and Wednesdays, with a few matches held on Sundays. For most matches, the start time will be 7:30 p.m. local time, with pregame coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET. A few matches each week may air at other times.
Fans can sign up for updates about MLS Season Pass on the official website or TV app. A subscription to MLS Season Pass will be included as part of full-season ticket packages with MLS clubs. Some MLS and Leagues Cup matches, including playoff matchups, will be available at no additional cost to Apple TV+ subscribers.
The first home opener to be revealed so far is the 2022 MLS Cup champions Los Angeles FC against the LA Galaxy at the Rose Bowl Stadium. All matches during the "MLS is Back" opening weekend will be available to watch for free on the Apple TV app.
The MLS 2023 regular season will kick off on February 25. The 2023 expansion club St. Louis CITY SC has already unveiled their jerseys for the inaugural season, featuring the Apple TV sleeve patch.
