Apollo acquires Gatehouse Living Group in major UK housing deal
Apollo-managed funds have taken over Gatehouse Living Group (GLG) from Gatehouse Bank. The deal marks a significant move in the UK's residential investment sector. GLG's current CEO, Paul Stockwell, will remain in charge after the acquisition. GLG operates as a vertically integrated platform specialising in UK residential investment and management. It combines Gatehouse Investment Management with Ascend Properties, offering services for build-to-rent single-family housing. Institutional investors rely on the company for operational support in this growing market.
To date, GLG has built five investment platforms and sold three, acquiring more than 5,000 homes across the UK. The group now manages over 10,000 properties nationwide, with nearly 4,000 under its Ascend Living brand. Despite the change in ownership, GLG will continue providing property management for external institutional portfolios. Apollo's takeover strengthens its position in the UK housing sector. The firm plans to collaborate with GLG's leadership to broaden the company's operational reach and capabilities. Stockwell's continued role ensures stability as the business moves forward under new ownership.
