In 1970, the world held its breath as NASA embarked on its third moon mission, Apollo 13. The cinematic account of this ill-fated lunar flight, 'Apollo 13,' directed by Ron Howard, is making a comeback to the big screen.

Originally released as 'Apollo 13: The IMAX Experience' in 2002, the film is now being presented in its full length for the first time in 2025, marking the 30th anniversary of its release. This re-launch offers the film restored in IMAX, employing IMAX's DMR technology, providing audiences with an immersive viewing experience.

The story of 'Apollo 13' is a testament to human resilience, ingenuity, and teamwork. An oxygen tank explosion crippled the life support systems of the spacecraft, putting the lives of the astronauts, played by Tom Hanks, Ed Harris, Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon, Gary Sinise, and Kathleen Quinlan, in grave danger. Despite the odds, they managed to return to Earth safely.

Ron Howard, the director of the film, reminds us of the relevance of the themes in 'Apollo 13' for today's times. He states that the film is a powerful reminder of the spirit of cooperation and determination that can overcome even the most challenging circumstances.

The re-release of 'Apollo 13' is a celebration not only of the film but also of a proud milestone for Imagine Entertainment. The film will be shown nationwide in IMAX cinemas across the USA, including cities like New York (at the Paris Theater) and major urban areas with IMAX theaters such as Cleveland (Ohio) in September 2025.

The celebration for 'Apollo 13' is being extended into late September. Thirteen minutes of the movie were edited out due to restrictions of IMAX's projection platter of that era, but these missing scenes will be included in the 2025 re-launch.

'Apollo 13' earned nine Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. The film is based on the 1994 book 'Lost Moon' by Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Kluger, providing a detailed account of the events in the film.

Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment will present 'Apollo 13' in IMAX theaters from Sept. 19 to Sept. 25, 2025. Don't miss this opportunity to relive the thrilling story of Apollo 13 on the big screen.
