APC Legislators Not Automatically Securing 2027 Election Nominations - Senator Ipinsagba's Assertion

In a recent statement, Senator Jide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District, reiterated his opposition to automatic return tickets for All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in the 2027 general elections. He emphasised that re-election should be based on lawmakers’ performance and contributions to their constituencies, not granted automatically.

Ipinsagba, who chairs the Senate Committee on Public Procurement, also pledged to intensify efforts to lobby for federal intervention on road repairs in Ondo North. However, he did not mention any specific federal roads in need of repair.

The senator, who is committed to quality representation and attracting federal projects to his constituency, has also assured that a bill proposing the establishment of the Information and Communication Technology University in Ikare-Akoko would soon receive legislative approval. He, however, did not provide any updates on the progress of this bill.

On the proposed creation of Ose State, which recently passed its first reading in the House of Representatives, Ipinsagba stated that robust discussions would take place when it reaches the Senate. He did not mention any opposition to the creation of Ose State, but also did not specify what measures he would take to ensure the people's interests are represented during discussions on the Ose State bill.

Ipinsagba's constituents remain his top priority, and he highlighted strides made in education, healthcare, and infrastructure in his constituency. However, he did not provide any details on the strides made since his last statement.
