Diddy has been in custody since mid-September 2024. The prosecution has accused the 55-year-old of sex trafficking, organized crime, and other offenses. The primary allegation is that he coerced women like his former girlfriend Ventura into participating in drug-influenced sexual encounters with male sex workers, which he staged and filmed as "Freak Offs." Diddy denies all charges and pleads "not guilty."
On the first day of jury selection, the rapper stood tall in a black turtleneck sweater, a white collared shirt, and charcoal gray trousers. Diddy had previously been granted permission by Judge Subramanian to dress as he pleased. Upon entering the courtroom, he exchanged warm embraces and handshakes with his legal team, comprising Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos.
As the day wore on, Diddy nodded or shook his head in agreement or disagreement during questioning. When his lawyers requested a brief restroom break, the defendant addressed Judge Subramanian, who initially wanted to postpone the break: "I apologize, Your Honor, I'm a bit nervous today."
