The 19-year-old Italian racing driver, Liam Antonelli, who secured a podium finish in Canada in June and was classified ninth at the Grand Canyon, is looking to deliver a good performance at the upcoming Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Antonelli, who belongs to the McLaren team, struggled during the race at the Grand Canyon. He admitted making a mistake at the start of the race and struggled with his hard tyres, a problem he also faced during the race. Toto Wolff, the team's boss, described Antonelli's performance as underwhelming, and even criticised it.

Since then, Antonelli has crashed twice and finished outside the points twice. However, he views Wolff's criticism as motivation for the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Antonelli felt it was important to have clean sessions in practice, but he did not get to do any long runs in FP2 at the Grand Canyon, which affected his preparation. He struggled to find his rhythm at the Grand Canyon due to lack of practice with high fuel. This was evident when he received a five-second penalty at the Grand Canyon.

Despite the setbacks, Antonelli aims to have clean practice sessions and accumulate as many laps as possible in the lead-up to the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix. His main goal is to deliver a good performance in qualifying and the race.

Antonelli did not specify which race he was referring to when he said 'this weekend.' However, with the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix just around the corner, fans and team members alike will be eagerly waiting to see if Antonelli can bounce back from his struggles at the Grand Canyon and deliver a strong performance in Baku.
