Anton Shvets remains a member of Rubin, with his agreement set to expire by the end of the current season.

In a move aimed at bolstering the midfield, Kazan's Rubin has signed Anton Shvets as a free agent. The experienced midfielder, who boasts a rich career in both the Spanish and Russian leagues, is set to make his debut for the club.

Shvets' extensive experience playing for Spanish clubs Real Zaragoza and Villarreal B, as well as his time in the Russian Premier League and the Spanish league, could prove valuable to the Kazan team. His eight-season stint with Grozny's 'Akhmat' saw him feature in 187 matches, scoring 12 goals and providing 5 assists.

Shvets will wear the number 30 shirt for the rest of the current season and will immediately compete for a spot in the starting lineup. This match against Akron, scheduled for the Gazovik stadium and kick-off at 16:30 Moscow time, will be an important step in preparing for the continuation of the season in the Premier League for Rubin.

The Group A match could see Shvets making his debut for Rubin as early as September 16, in an away match against Orenburg in the Russian Cup group stage. This match, while significant for Shvets' Rubin debut, may also be an important step in Rubin's cup campaign.

Meanwhile, in other football news, bookmakers have expressed doubts about Akron's victory over Lokomotiv in the Russian Cup. Elsewhere, Guberniev has named Talalaev as the best coach in Russia at the moment, and Batrakov currently leads the RPL players' transfer value ranking with a value of €43.9 million.

Notably, Shvets was coached by Rudi Völler before his transfer to Rubin, a fact that may influence his playing style and approach to the game. As Rubin prepares for the upcoming season, the addition of Shvets to their midfield is a strategic move that could potentially bolster their chances in both the Premier League and the Russian Cup.
