Bukola Saraki's Return to APC Unconfirmed: Just Another Rumor?

Anticipation Surges After Unverified Reports Suggest Saraki May Switch Parties to APC

The gossip mills are churning, but the truth remains murky - is former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, set to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State? Sunday Fagbemi, the APC chairman, ain't spilling the beans just yet, but if the rumors are indeed true, he's welcoming with open arms.

Fagbemi, casually chatting with The Guardian, revealed he's heard the whispers about Saraki's possible return. He's optimistic about the development, though, he cautions: if it's true, politicos heading to the APC need to remember who's the boss here.

Saraki, you'll recall, left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former President Goodluck Jonathan back in 2014 for the APC. However, he made a comeback to the PDP in 2018, tagging along with Atiku Abubakar, the former presidential candidate. Lately, he's been vocal about the defection of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to the APC, which, interestingly, seems to indicate he's not mulling over an APC comeback.

Kwara PDP Chairman, Tunde Mohammed, echoes the same sentiment to The Guardian. He's ready to welcome Saraki, but for now, there's nothing concrete on the table. Former PDP Chairman in the state, Kola Shittu, agrees, asserting that Saraki is a political colossus who wouldn't play second fiddle to anyone, and his presence is a guaranteed victory, yet he's not discussing any plans for a defection.

Saraki's aide told The Guardian under cover of anonymity that no plans for a defection from the PDP have been discussed. Politicians gotta looks after their folks, he added, and Saraki's focus is always what's best for the people of Kwara State.

With all this back and forth, it seems like we're caught in a web of speculation. So, until Saraki makes an official announcement, let's keep the popcorn at the ready and the energy-dissipating at a minimum.
