Anticipation soars on the eve of the final day of the Ibiza JoySail festivities
The third day of the Ibiza JoySail 2025 sailing competition is drawing to a close, with the final day set to take place on Sunday at 12 noon. The competition, now on its penultimate day, has seen some exciting races so far, with several titles yet to be decided.
In the Performance category, Moat continues to dominate, remaining undefeated after winning all three races. Jasi is a close second, just three seconds behind Moat. Esense, the only Corinthian boat in the category, is making a strong showing.
The race course for the day was a 14-nautical-mile carousel between Ibiza and Formentera, with the Race Committee choosing a course with a gentle breeze barely reaching 10 knots.
In the Cruising categories, the same leaders were maintained from the previous days. Open Season leads in Cruising M, with Shambho and Viento competing for the Corinthian title. In Cruising L, Kiboko 4 overtook the lead from Liberty Squared this Saturday, but remains second in the general classification, two points behind Liberty.
The Cruising XL category is shaping up to be a tight race between Spiip and L'Hippocampe. Spiip currently leads, but L'Hippocampe is close behind, just one point behind. The winner of the final race in Cruising XL will be crowned the champion, with Geist also capable of winning.
The World Cruising class has seen a lead change on the last day, with Nostromo recovering the first place from Aurelius. Nostromo won the third race in the World Cruising class, giving them a one-point difference going into the final day. However, the search results do not provide information about which yacht caused the lead change.
