Rockin' and Gallivantin' in Germany!
Anticipating German Museum Exhibits, Duran Duran Expresses Excitement
Hear ye, hear ye! The legendary pop band Duran Duran, known for hits like "The Wild Boys" and "Hungry Like The Wolf," is all set to storm Germany this June! Prepare for a night of yow-yow music in Düsseldorf (24th) and Berlin (27th)! Bassist John Taylor, in a recent chat with dpa, shared that Duran Duran is as excited to reunite with their German fans as they are to immerse themselves in the local culture and museums.
Return to the Motherland after 13 Years!
It’s about time, ya’ll! Duran Duran is making a comeback to Germany after a 13-year hiatus. Last seen in several German cities during their “All You Need Is Now” tour in 2012, the band is ready to shake things up once again. "It's been a minute," Taylor (64) quipped, looking forward to their first German performance since.
This time around, they'll be gracing the stage in cities they never played before, including Düsseldorf. Taylor can't wait for the city's vibrant energy, while Berlin holds a special place in his heart.
Rowdy Hits and a Dash of the New!
Since their last German gig, Duran Duran has released three studio albums chock-full of chart-toppers like "Girls On Film," "A View To A Kill," and "Notorious." Fear not, fans, as they'll be bringing a mix of their classic tunes and sprinkling in some fresh tracks for the Berlin and Düsseldorf shows. “We want you to remember why we matter,” Taylor cheekily stated. “Even if you missed the originals, we promise the newer ones will still slap!”
Touring may not always be a walk in the park, but Duran Duran seems to have found their groove. “We’ve managed to establish a balance,” shared Taylor. “We work hard and play harder - the spirit around the band is light as a feather, and we’re truly blessed to do what we do.”
Museum Junkies Unite!
Besides rockin' out, Duran Duran is also excited to take on the role of culture vultures in Germany, particularly in museums. While there's no confirmation on their museum hopping plans, it's safe to say they'll be diving headfirst into the German art and cultural scene during their downtime. If you’re planning a trip to Düsseldorf or Berlin, here are some cultural hotspots to check out:
- Düsseldorf: Kunst im öffentlichen Raum, Museum Kunstpalast
- Berlin: Museum Island, Berlin Wall Memorial
John Taylor couldn't help but share his museum-going excitement, particularly about the Brücke Museum in Berlin. So if you happen to cross paths with these musical legends, ask them for their top museum picks - who knows, they just might spill the beans!
