Tui is anticipating a boom in fall getaways this year, according to their CEO, Stefan Baumert. He shared this insight with the German Press Agency in Hannover, noting, "Autumn's picking up speed." Many vacationers are eager to extend their summer vibes, with beach vacations starting earlier and lasting longer.
Following FTI's bankruptcy, Tui was able to secure additional resources, resulting in 75,000 extra vacation spots and 12,300 additional seats on 65 additional flights for the fall season. These added options clearly indicate Tui's high expectations for autumn travel.
Mallorca, once a popular fall destination, has been replaced by Antalya as the top choice for Tui travelers. Baumert attributed Antalya's popularity to its summer temperatures, great value-for-money ratio, and Turkey's ongoing travel boom. The top ten fall destinations, as per Tui, are:
- Antalya, Turkey
- Mallorca, Spain
- Crete, Greece
- Kos, Greece
- Hurghada, Egypt
- Fuerteventura, Spain
- Rhodes, Greece
- Faro, Portugal
- Gran Canaria, Spain
- Marsa Alam, Egypt
The USA remains the most favored long-haul location for fall, followed by UAE, Thailand, Maldives, and Mauritius. For road trips, Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic take the top spots.
Tui's hotel business and cruises have been thriving. By the end of June, the company had served approximately 5.8 million travelers, a 4% increase compared to the previous year. Tui surpassed financial analysts' expectations and even recorded a record quarter during this period.
As Antalya offers stunning natural beauty, rich history, vibrant nightlife, cultural attractions, and adventure activities, it's easy to understand why it remains a popular choice year-round. Although Tui hasn't specifically released data for autumn 2022, these factors make Antalya a consistently attractive destination.
