Mark your calendars for the excitement-packed extravaganza happening in Novara from June 21 to June 29 - the 19th edition of Streetgames! Brace yourself for a whirlwind of sports, entertainment, and social inclusion that promises to liven up the city's summer vibe.
The heart of the event will be Piazza Martiri, beaming with arenas for soccer, basketball, beach volleyball, padel, and multi-sport activities. Don't miss the pulsating energy at Piazza Puccini, where food and kids zones will add a tasty twist to the festivities. Meanwhile, Piazza della Repubblica will go head-to-head with martial arts and boxing arenas.
More than 2,500 athletes are expected to participate, including those registered for the tournaments (750) and those partaking in various scheduled activities. Additionally, a thousand children and youngsters from summer centers and camps will join in the morning and afternoon sessions.
Mayor Alessandro Canelli, in his statements, shared that the collaboration with event organizers has been renewed, making this event an annual symbol of the summer season's start. Ivan De Grandis, Deputy Mayor in charge of sports, applauded the promoters' dedication to fostering inclusion, as evidenced by the inclusion of people with disabilities in scheduled activities like the Formid@bile tournament and charity relay with "Novara che corre" and Edo’s smile.
On the opening night, two 1,200-euro scholarships, supported by sponsors, will be granted to a student and a student who have demonstrated exceptional academic and sports achievements. In collaboration with the "La talpa" bookstore, literary enthusiasts can also indulge in a book presentation of Dario Ricci's "Touchdown Mr. President!" on Tuesday, June 24 at 8 pm, followed by Alessio De Chirico and Daniele Manusia's "Sempre, ovunque, contro chiunque. Vita di un fighter di MMA" on Wednesday, June 25 at 9:30 pm. sports activities will commence between 6 pm and 6:30 pm each evening, playing out to the tunes of concerts and DJ sets on the stage from 8 pm onwards.
