A storm system is making its way towards Arizona from the west, set to bring gusty winds, blowing dust, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and heavy downpours. The system is expected to tap into lingering moisture from Tropical Storm Mario, potentially leading to severe storms and flash flooding in parts of the state.
The best chances for showers and thunderstorms in the Valley are on Thursday evening and Friday. Temperatures will drop into the upper 90s on these days, but it will feel muggy due to the increased moisture. High pressure is expected to build in over the weekend, bringing drier air and hotter temperatures, with Phoenix climbing back into the low 100s on Saturday and Sunday.
