Forecast for Kazakhstan Beyond August 12: Unstable Weather and Regional Variations

The weather forecast for Kazakhstan beyond August 12, 2025, indicates generally unstable conditions with regional variations. Here's a summary of the forecast for various cities across the nation.

In the northwest, cities like Aktau, Atyrau, and Uralsk are expected to experience cloudy skies, rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 30°C. The night lows will hover around 18 to 22°C, while daytime highs will reach up to 29°C.

Moving towards the central region, Astana, Kostanay, and Pavlodar are forecast to have variable cloudiness, rain, and thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 15 to 26°C, with night lows around 13 to 17°C and daytime highs up to 24 to 26°C.

In the southeastern region, Almaty and Zhetysu will continue to experience variable cloudiness, dry conditions, and winds of up to 8 to 14 m/s. Temperatures will remain high, with night lows around 21 to 23°C and daytime highs reaching up to 35 to 37°C.

In the south, cities like Turkestan and Shymkent will see daytime temperatures soar to 38 to 40°C and 37 to 39°C, respectively, under variable cloudiness. Night lows in these areas will be around 23 to 25°C and 22 to 24°C, respectively.

In the east, Kokshetau, Jezkazgan, and Ust-Kamenogorsk are expected to experience cloudy skies with rain and thunderstorms, strong winds, and cooler temperatures. Night lows will range from 8 to 17°C, while daytime highs will be around 26 to 29°C.

In the mountainous southeastern regions, dust storms are expected. Kyzylorda, on the other hand, will remain clear and dry, with temperatures reaching up to 33 to 35°C and night lows around 17 to 19°C.

Strong winds, fog during nights and early mornings, and a high fire risk are forecast throughout this period in several regions, including Almaty, West Kazakhstan, and East Kazakhstan.

From August 19 to 21, a northwestern cyclone will cause heavy rain and possible hail and squally winds in western, northern, and eastern parts of Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, the south will remain mostly dry and clear under an anticyclone.

Temperatures will drop notably in the north and east, with night lows around 5–17 °C and daytime highs dropping to 17–29 °C depending on the region. Other areas will see moderate temperatures with less change, while southern regions can expect hotter conditions exceeding seasonal norms.
