The Southern Federal District, including Krasnodar Krai and Rostov Oblast, is bracing for a heatwave as temperatures are forecasted to rise significantly above normal. According to Roman Vilfand, the scientific director of Russia's Hydrometeorological Center, the region is expected to experience temperatures 3-6 degrees Celsius higher than average.

The current temperature in Krasnodar stands at a warm 35 degrees Celsius, with variable cloudiness and minimal precipitation expected throughout the day. Meanwhile, temperatures in Krasnodar Krai are predicted to range from 35-38 degrees Celsius, making for a hot summer's day.

In Rostov Oblast, temperatures are expected to reach even higher, with the weekend forecast predicting temperatures of 37-39 degrees Celsius. This is 6 degrees Celsius above the normal temperature for this time of year.

The news of these elevated temperatures has been making waves on various platforms, with reports available on Telegram, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, and YouTube.

The regions have faced drought issues in the past, including in 2025, which suggests that the area might be experiencing relatively hot and dry conditions. However, for specific weather conditions such as precipitation and cloud cover, more detailed forecasts can be found by consulting a dedicated weather service or meteorological website.

Given these high temperatures, it's essential to take precautions to stay safe in the heat. Drink plenty of water, wear loose and light-coloured clothing, and avoid outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.

As always, stay informed and stay cool!
