Anticipated shift: from heat to rain and cooler temperatures
A northwest cyclone is set to impact Kazakhstan, bringing a mix of rain, thunderstorms, hail, and increased winds across much of the country. The weather forecast, provided by RGP "Kazhydromet", reveals a complex regional pattern rather than uniform conditions.
Heavy showers with thunderstorms and squalls are common in northern, northwestern, eastern, and central Kazakhstan, often accompanied by hail. The cyclone also brings stronger winds, with potential for squally and gusty conditions, particularly in the north and west. Night and morning fog may occur in northern, northwestern, and eastern parts during the cyclone period.
The temperature variations are significant. Eastern Kazakhstan and the southeast are expected to cool, with temperatures dropping from around 30–35°C to 17–25°C or 25–32°C respectively. Northwestern and northern regions often see moderate warming, with daytime temperatures rising to roughly 22–33°C and 18–23°C respectively. Western Kazakhstan can experience a temperature increase from 22–30°C up to 27–35°C during the cyclone's activity. Southern Kazakhstan generally remains hotter, often unaffected by the cyclone's cooling influence, with temperatures reaching 25–35°C or higher.
Despite the rain, some regions, particularly in the south, west, and parts of Almaty and Mangistau regions, continue to face high fire threat due to heat and dry spells adjacent to rainy areas.
Unfortunately, no information is provided about the potential impact of these weather conditions on infrastructure or people, or any precautions or warnings issued by authorities. The duration of these temperature conditions is also not specified.
