Unveiling the Arrival of Hollow Knight: Silksong in Gaming Landscape
Anticipated Release of Hollow Knight: Silksong Precedes Holidays, Yet Remains Surreal for Me
The latest Xbox Games Showcase event stirred up a storm, not just with the unveiling of new Xbox handheld PCs - the Xbox Asus ROG Ally and Xbox Asus ROG Ally X, but also the confirmation that the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong would grace these devices at launch.
This long-awaited metroidvania game, originally announced in 2019, has left players in a state of suspended anticipation due to the scarcity of updates. The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in April 2025 offered a rare glimpse of the title, showcasing a few seconds of gameplay footage and setting a 2025 release window. Yesterday, we caught another glimpse of the game in the Xbox show, accompanied by the news of its launch coinciding with the upcoming Xbox handhelds.
But the question on everyone's mind, "When will Silksong actually be released?" The developers have shed some light on this doubt. During a conversation on the official Hollow Knight Discord server, Matthew Griffin, the publishing and marketing lead, confirmed that the game will be out "before [the] holiday" and is not tied to a console release. In a subsequent message, he clarified that the "holiday" he referred to was "Christmas," implying a release window between mid-November and mid-December of 2025.
