Anticipated Performances and Musical Acts at CTM Festival 2024: Who to Watch Out For
The city of Berlin is set to be a hub of creativity and innovation as the CTM Festival returns for another year, running from January 26th to February 4th in various spaces across the city.
The festival's closing concert on February 4th will take place at Volksbühne, featuring a lineup that includes Aïsha Devi and Petra Hermanova, Jon Eirik Boska and Elizaveta Suslova. The event runs from 20:00 to 22:00.
On February 3rd, Radialsystem Saal will host two intriguing events. The first is the panel discussion On the Edge: Ireland, Rave and the Periphery, happening from 17:00 to 18:00. Later in the day, the event Quantum Computing and Sound: Talks and performances on quantum tech and music will take place from 15:00 to 18:30.
Another highlight of the festival is the hybrid short film Niranthea, showing at Radialsystem Saal on February 2nd at 15:00 and February 3rd at 16:30.
For those interested in immersive installations, Oceanic Refractions will be running throughout the festival at Silent Green's Kuppelhalle.
The Research Networking Day, an exchange platform for graduate or postgrad students and independent artists, will take place at radialsystem Saal on February 4th with sessions at 12:00, 13:50, and 15:40.
January 31st will see Heinali giving an artist talk about reimagining Early Modern Music at the End of Times at Radialsystem Saal.
The premiere of Through the Thinking Iceberg is scheduled for February 3rd at 20:00 at Volksbühne. The following day, the artist talk Through the Thinking Iceberg will take place at Radialsystem Saal from 15:30 to 16:30.
The opening club night at Berghain Säule will feature the multidisciplinary event The Three Sound of Revolution by Pisitakun, part of CTM's opening festivities.
On January 29th, Radialsystem Halle will see two exciting events. Jules Reidy will open a show in support of their latest album Trances on Shelter Press, and One Leg One Eye, a performance by Ian Lynch, will also feature.
Silent Green 2, Betonhalle will host two captivating performances. Ben Frost will perform alongside Greg Kubacki and Tarik Barri on January 27th and 28th. The project HJirok, exploring the effects of climate change in the Iranian-Kurdish region, will also appear at Silent Green 2, Betonhalle on January 27th and 28th.
Finally, the session Resynthesising Identities, Discussions and Sonic Intervention is a unique opportunity to explore the rebuilding of connections among indigenous communities. This event will take place at Radialsystem Saal on January 30th. The artists involved in this session include İpek Gökçeer, KABLAM, and Ajlal.
