Predicted Summer Heatwave in Hessen Starting Midweek

Summer temperatures set to arrive in Hesse from Wednesday onwards - Anticipated high summer temperatures commence in Hessen starting from Wednesday.

Let's chat about the weather, y'all. On Tuesday, a weak atmospheric pressure disturbance is predicted to affect Hessen, particularly in the northern regions, causing alternating conditions. According to the German Meteorological Service (DWD), dense clouds are forecast to roll through, with occasional rain in the north, and the possibility of localized showers in the afternoon. The southern region will remain largely dry. The maximum temperatures will range from 19 degrees in the north to as high as 25 degrees in the Rhine region, with high-elevation spots reaching around 17 degrees. The wind blows moderately from the southwest, shifting to the west-northwest in the afternoon. In high-altitude and northern Hessian mountainous regions, wind gusts of up to 55 km/h might occur [4].

As the night progresses towards Wednesday, the wind will calm down, and lingering showers will subside as the clouds gradually disperse. Fog patches may form in some areas. The lowest temperatures will be around 12 degrees in the south and 8 degrees in the north.

The fun starts on Thursday as temperatures soar over 30 degrees!

From Wednesday onwards, a high-pressure system takes control. The sun shines abundantly, with no rain forecast. Temperatures will climb to 21-26 degrees, resembling the heat in the Rhine region. Thursdays and Fridays will also see plenty of sunshine and warmth, with high temperatures of up to 33 degrees possible on Friday. Only occasionally could there be scattered showers or thunderstorms towards the weekend [4].

Despite the Commission yet to adopt a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation, the predicted summer heatwave in Hessen starting midweek is a weather-related concern that might affect workers in the region. As temperatures soar over 30 degrees on Thursday, it's crucial for employers to ensure safety measures are in place to protect their workers from potentially harmful heat conditions.
