Anticipated Cold Season Approaches in Krasnodar's Coastal Resorts
Hit the Coast of Kuban Next Week for a Chilly Autumn-Like Weather
brace yourself for some unexpected weather change if you're planning a trip to Sochi next week. Meteorologists predict a chillier Autumn-like vibe on the Black Sea coast, with temperatures hovering around +23-25°C.
Sochi's June weather has been anything but predictable in recent years. The resort city, known for its warm summer climates, took a cold, windy turn, even outdoing some Siberian cities like Omsk, Novosibirsk, and Krasnoyarsk.
"We came here, and it's cold and windy. Back in Perm, where we're from, it was a sweltering +27°C," shares Evgeny Cherkasov, a tourist from Perm.
Central Sochi beaches have been buzzing post-June rains, as vacationers get creative to make the most of the lackluster sunshine. The sea water's still a brisk +22°C, but almost everyone's taking a dip.
"Indeed, this year's June has seen more rainy days - swimming was prohibited a few times due to storms," says Lilya Pantak, a beach cashier-manager.
Visitors like Natalia Scherbakov have expressed their disappointment. "We've been here since June 3 - it's unusually cold for June. Last year it was sweltering hot, but this year it's freezing. They're forecasting rain again starting Sunday," she complains.
As we move into July, don't hold your breath for a heatwave. Meteorologists are predicting temperatures that are 1-1.5°C below the climatic norm.
On the horizon, cold fronts are brewing, with rain expected to hit the northwestern regions and the Azov Sea from June 28. By June 29, the region can expect rain throughout, with a storm warning issued for the Krasnodar region, predicting rain with thunderstorms and hail.
It seems the usually sunny summer of the Black Sea of Krasnodar region will take a velvet turn in the middle of the season. So, if you're up for a chillier getaway, it's a perfect time to visit.

Additional Insights:- This cold weather anomaly in June 2025 is primarily due to heavy rainfall, storms, and even snowfall at higher elevations, which are rare occurrences for the typically warm Black Sea resort city during early summer. The unstable weather conditions are linked to larger regional atmospheric disturbances affecting southern Russia and the Black Sea coast.- The good news is that July is expected to return to mostly warm and relatively dry patterns, with average daytime temperatures around +25°C. This suggests that the cold spell in June is only temporary. The early warm summer weather is expected to resume, making conditions more favorable for outdoor and beach activities as the summer progresses. Unlike June, July’s weather is forecast to be more stable, with less rain and more sunshine.
The upcoming weather in Sochi next week may deviate from expectations, as meteorologists predict a chillier Autumn-like vibe on the Black Sea coast, similar to the unusual weather patterns observed in June. Therefore, it's essential to stay updated with the weather forecasts to brace for possible changes.
