Winter ain't ready to give up! Met Moscow and the region folks, 'cause the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia's weather forecasters say it's gonna be freezing cold 'til the end of this week. Frost's comin' in at -1 to -2 degrees at night, and daytime today will be a steamy +13 to +15. But fear not, on May 8, it'll chill out to a not-so-bad +10 to +12—some areas might even have tiny showers.
But here's the kicker: on the night of May 9, it might rain and snow! But don't you worry, it's gonna be a brief fling and ain't nothing like last year's blizzard on Victory Day. That day, it'll be even cooler: up to +9 to +11, with a tiny chance of drizzle. By Saturday and Sunday, May 10 and 11, it won't go above +12 degrees.
Warning: This weather's a big ol' anomaly, Roman Vilfand, scientific director at the Hydrometeorological Center, said on "Komsomolskaya Pravda" radio. Usually, it's this cold in early April. Nothing we can do about it, bro—May weather's a fickle beast, as fickle as the heart of a beauty queen.
So, when will the spring chill exit stage left and make way for the warm sunny days we seek? Just you wait, Vilfand says: Only from May 15-16 will the temperature really heat up and reach the 15-degree mark.
