Anticipated Chapter Unfolds in the Saga of Ahsoka

That damn ruckus you heard last night might've been the internet tangling itself up in a knot over just how satisfying the latest chapter of Star Wars: Ahsoka was. Ever since the first three episodes, it felt like they were mainly setting things up, but this one?! Man, it was packed full of thrilling action, critical character development, jaw-dropping surprises, and fucking Marrok on our screens. We're diving in, so buckle up.

The fourth episode is christened "Fallen Jedi," and hearing that title was kinda like getting giddy over what pirate hordes and hidden treasure await just around the corner. But by the end, you're scratching your head, wondering if it's Ahsoka, Baylan, or perhaps even Sabine who's actually "fallen." Whod'ya know, that's what makes it so enjoyable to chat about.

Things start to roll with Huyang and Sabine, trying their best to fix Ahsoka's jalopy after that wild dogfight in the previous installment. Ahsoka catches wind of something, so they have to split, and before they go, we witness a probably-last-time star moment between master and apprentice. Ahsoka drops some tough love, first reminding Sabine that their quest for the map is just as important as finding Ezra—it's stopping Thrawn that truly matters. If they ever have to choose between the two, Ezra's got to take a backseat, and Sabine, well, she won't be too stoked about that, but she promises she's always got Ahsoka's back.

The ensuing action brings back the memory of what this series used to be: fun, badass, a smorgasbord of droid-kicking mayhem. Huyang takes out the assassin droids with a bit of Swiss Army knife-like finesse, and we see a deeper side of Ahsoka as she starts cracking under the pressure. And IT. FEELS. GREAT.

While all that's happening, Hera's lost her goddamn marbles! She jumps the Ghost straight at Baylan's spaceship, and wouldn't you know it—behold the joyous visage of Kanan itself! Plus, she's got a whole squadron of X-Wings hot on her tail, led by none other than Carson Teva, the Nick Fury of the Star Wars Disney+ shows. And hey, wait, is that Lt. Lander we see in there? Why yes, indeed, son of the Mandalorian legend Brendan Wayne is here, wreaking havoc with his high-flying fighter skills.

Back at Seatos, Baylan's goons are getting all cozy with the T-6, and guess who's there to spoil their party? Why, it's Sabine! She lights up this bitch's ass with her laser cannons to set the stage for a duel with Shin, while Ahsoka takes on the dark arts of Marrok, a pseudo-Inquisitor that Filoni's clearly left no stone unturned when crafting.

In the heat of the battle, we're treated to a little "Twin Suns" reunion, don't mind if we do. Ahsoka and Marrok square off in a swords dance that would've made Miyamoto proud. With a single slash, a smile crosses Ahsoka's face, and Marrok explodes like the operator of a vanishing trick gone terribly, comically wrong.

But alas, these cliffhangers never just roll over and die, do they? Sabine manages to escape before Baylan can cap her off, and he gives Chase some harder-than-expected choices when he threatens to harm her and reunite her with the one and only Ezra Bridger if she hands over the map.

Say what you will about Star Wars' moral high ground, but this installment's not afraid to dive headfirst into the questionable and murky realms of gray decisions. Sabine ultimately decides her friendship with Baylan is more important than saving the galaxy (what a rookie), and the episode closes with Baylan literally sending Ahsoka to the afterlife dimension known as the World Between Worlds—a nifty little spot we've seen teased extensively throughout the Star Wars Rebels series.

So there you have it, folks. Our first glimpse into what was easily the best episode of Star Wars: Ahsoka yet. Now that that's out of the way, do us all a favor and tune in next time to see if dear ol' Ahsoka gets her groove back, and once more for shits and giggles, WHO THE HELL IS THE "FALLEN JEDI"?! Discuss your thoughts below, and may the Force be with you!
