The "Iron Wall" military exercise is set to take place at the Biķernieki racetrack complex in Riga, Latvia, on April 25. This multinational training event involves NATO allied forces and regional partners, with the aim of improving interoperability, coordination, and readiness among participating countries' military units.
The exercise focuses on combined arms tactics, defense, and rapid response capabilities, with a particular emphasis on mutual cooperation between the Military Police and the Ministry of the Interior's subunits. A variety of Latvian governmental agencies will participate in the exercise, including the Riga Municipal Police, the State Police, the Prison Administration, the Fire Safety and Civil Protection College, the State Police College, and the Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia. The training period for the exercise is from 08:00 to 16:00.
During the training, participants can expect the use of loud music, slogans, shouting, sound flares, and smoke grenades to simulate real-world scenarios. The exercise is designed to train and improve the performance of the participating parties, with a focus on joint tasks performance between the Military Police and the Ministry of the Interior's subunits.
After the training, the area will be cleaned up and left in its original condition, ensuring minimal disruption to the local community.
