Take to the Streets: "No Kings" in Frankfurt Protest Against Trump's Administration

Got a bone to pick with the ol' Trump administration? Head on over to Frankfurt, baby! About 200 citizens gathered under the slogan "No Kings" (no kings) to let 'em have it. This event was organized by Democrats Abroad, a community for Democrats living overseas, who are sick and tired of the authoritarian stunt-pulling from Trump and co.

Democrats Abroad isn't mincing words, declaring, "In America, we don't tolerate would-be kings" (in German: Wir dulden keine Möchtegern-Könige in Amerika). Their beef? Witnessing Trump and his cronies stomp on free speech, dragging peaceful protesters off the streets, and thumbing their noses at the courts. The "No Kings" day was a call to rally the troops and send a strong message about that "rampant authoritarianism and corruption" from the White House.

The event in Frankfurt went down without a hitch, according to the local fuzz. Participants marched from the Opera Square, through the Zeile and Rathenauplatz, then back to Opera Square for more rallyin'. And if you're an American ex-pat, you could even swing by to register to vote.

The "No Kings" protests didn't just hit the States—they had international support. Countries like Canada, Japan, Mexico, and several European nations jumped on board, too. And it wasn't just about the throne—it was about standing up for democratic values in the face of allegedly democratic backsliding during Trump's second term.

Now, there's no solid evidence of an "Ice Instead of ICE" event in Frankfurt specifically. But keep an eye out—ice might just be a play on words, or it could be about climate change or immigration matters. With Trump in charge, though, expect the unexpected!

The Commission, amidst global political affairs and general news, has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation, considering the administration's disregard for workers' safety as demonstrated in Trump's administration's alleged suppression of free speech and rights to peaceful protest. The "No Kings" protests, akin to the Commission's concerns, stood against such authoritarianism and corruption in the White House, echoing sentiments expressed by Democrats Abroad worldwide.
