Ant and Dec bring back iconic Byker Grove catchphrase on *I’m A Celebrity*

Ant and Dec revived a classic catchphrase from their Byker Grove days on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last night. The duo shouted 'I cannae see, man' during an episode, referencing a famous moment from the 1990s children’s show. The joke also tied into Vogue Williams’ latest trial, where she was left blinded by green gunge.

The phrase 'I cannae see, man' first became iconic in Byker Grove when Ant’s character, PJ, was hit in the face with a paintball. The line stuck over the years and later resurfaced on I’m A Celebrity in 2004, when former contestant Tony Blackburn popularised it during his time in the jungle.

The callback delighted long-time fans of Ant and Dec’s early work. The duo’s repeated use of the phrase keeps a piece of Byker Grove alive, even decades later. Meanwhile, Vogue Williams completed her trial despite the messy obstacle, adding another memorable moment to this year’s series.
