Annual Sheridan Dog Exhibition in 2025
On Monday morning, the Sheridan County Fair took a turn towards the canine world as various dog classes took centre stage. Youth exhibitors showcased their skills in Showmanship, Dog Agility, Dog Rally, Confirmation, and Obedience classes.
Stacey Ellenwood Photography was on hand to capture these moments, providing a visual record of the event. The photographs from the Sheridan County Fair can be found on the Events tab of www.staceyellenwood.com.
In the Showmanship classes, young handlers demonstrated their bond with their dogs, guiding them through a series of poses to highlight their breed's distinctive features. Meanwhile, in the Dog Agility classes, dogs and their handlers navigated an obstacle course, displaying their speed, agility, and teamwork.
The Dog Rally classes, on the other hand, focused on the handler-dog team's ability to follow a course of signs and perform specific tasks, demonstrating their obedience and communication skills. The Obedience classes, as the name suggests, tested the dogs' ability to follow commands accurately and consistently.
Confirmation classes were also held, where the dogs were judged based on their physical attributes and conformity to their breed standard. These classes provide an opportunity for breeders to assess the quality of their dogs and for the public to learn more about different breeds.
While detailed results and age divisions for the dog show were not available, the mix of classes reflects typical county fair offerings, accommodating different skill areas and levels of competition.
