Union's Benes secures a one-year loan and relocates to Turkey - Annual Rental Agreement: Union Relocates to Turkey - Legislation Shift

In a move that sees Hungarian midfielder Laszlo Benes depart from 1. FC Union Berlin, he has been loaned out to Turkish Super Lig club Kayserispor for the upcoming 2025/26 season. Notably, this transfer does not involve a loan fee and there is no option for Kayserispor to purchase Benes at the end of the loan period.

The decision to loan out Benes comes after he expressed a desire to leave FC Union Berlin and was not considered a part of head coach Steffen Baumgart's plans, with the midfielder playing almost no role in training camp and unlikely to earn significant playing time this season.

During his time at Union Berlin, Benes made 25 appearances and scored two goals, with his most notable contributions coming early in the 2024/25 season. However, his playing time diminished significantly towards the end of last season, with only three starts.

This loan move appears to be a strategic decision by Union Berlin to allow Benes to secure playing time elsewhere while maintaining the option for a future return. The absence of a loan fee and purchase option suggests that the club wanted to temporarily offload Benes' wages while retaining control over his future.

Laszlo Benes' career in the Bundesliga includes stints with Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Augsburg before joining Union Berlin. This move to Kayserispor marks a new chapter in his career, as he looks to regain his form and secure a regular spot in the starting lineup.

The Hungarian midfielder, Laszlo Benes, now on loan to Kayserispor, might find his footing in European-leagues through vocational training during his temporary stay, as he had been excluded from Union Berlin's plans. Despite his previous notable contributions in the Bundesliga with teams like Borussia Mönchengladbach, FC Augsburg, and Union Berlin, sports like football may provide a fresh start for him to rediscover his skills and claim a permanent spot in the team.
