This year's theme, "Obsessions – From Passion To Madness", promises to delve deep into the boundary between devotion and obsession.

Over 60 filmmakers from the Land of the Rising Sun are expected, including renowned directors, rising talents, and stars. Kosuke Hayashi, the Art Director, will be the guest of honor, winning an award for his impressive work on various anime projects.

Originating from humble beginnings with 13 films at a university back in 2000, the festival saw around 19,000 visitors last year.
