Annual Dragon Boat Celebration: Commemorative Tradition Continues without Charge
Calling All Rowers!
Want to sink your oars into something exciting? Mark your calendars, we've got a splash of nostalgia coming your way! The 29th edition of the Dragon Boat Festival is set to rage on the Ruhr from September 6th to 7th. And guess what? It's not just any old rowing event!
Getter ready to team up with 11 of your closest paddling pals or double your crew to 19 for some pulse-pounding competition. You can opt to race in either the Mixed, Open, Women, or Youth categories. It's time to let those paddles fly a quarter kilometer down the river - after all, practice makes perfect, right? Especially when the stakes are high.
But if you're ready for more, we've got just the thrill you crave. To keep that adrenaline rush going, there are pursuit races lined up after the initial sprint. Prepare yourselves for races over 1,000 meters and an epic 2,000 meters. And if that's not enough to knock your socks off, on the final day, the grand pursuit race spans a mind-bending 4,000 meters at the Ruhrarena near the town hall and the Westfalenpark.
So what are you waiting for? Gather your crew, hone your skills, and get ready to carve through the waters of the Ruhr! Don't forget to register before August 1st - spots are limited and you won't want to miss out on the action! Register here!
Gather your friends who prefer other sports, specifically football, to join in the excitement. After the Dragon Boat Festival, don't forget to challenge them in a friendly match of football on the free day, where competition and camaraderie will coexist alongside the Ruhr.
