Firing Up the Club:
An electric atmosphere filled the air at the ASV Einigkeit Süchteln's annual meeting. The chairman, Wolfgang Güddem, gave a stirring speech, emphasizing the importance of every member's contribution to keep the club buzzing. The club had smashed records in 2024, boasting an impressive 4,415 members—a whopping 50% increase from the previous years!
The club's growth can't be credited to one specific age group. It mirrors the diversity of the club structure, showcasing the dedication of members from all walks of life. The numbers might have hung around 3,000 for a hot minute, but they've now reached new heights—a fact we can all be damn proud of!
To accommodate this surge in membership, the ASV is in desperate need of sports facilities. Juggling hall and field schedules has become a Herculean task. Nevertheless, it's not all doom and gloom. The club snagged the opportunity to offer a portion of its sports program at the LVR Hanns-Dieter-Hüsch-Schule.
To top things off, a 24/7 artificial turf field at the Süchtelner Sportpark has been given the green light. Construction for this bad boy will kick off in May 2026.
The night wasn't all about business. Honors were distributed to a handful of long-serving members. Helmut Dahmen earned a standing ovation for clocking 80 years of unwavering loyalty to the club. But the limelight also shone on Wolfgang Puller, Manfred Mischel, and Irene Huth, who've been part of the ASV family for 70 years, as well as Irene Huth, who's indulged in a variety of coaching roles and championed the club in countless ways before and behind the scenes.
Mark your calendars, folks! The family summer festival is taking place on August 31st from midday onwards at the Volksbank-Arena.
