Yakutsk, Russia, is set to host its first-ever ultramarathon on August 30th, with local athlete Nadya But, a two-time Russian champion in 100 km running, set to participate. The event will take place on Lenin Prospect, 1, and is being organised by the "Yakutia" newspaper.

The ultramarathon distance consists of 25 laps of 4 kilometers each, making it a challenging test of endurance for the competitors. This exciting event promises to provide unique emotions and an unforgettable spectacle for the audience.

Nadya But, coached by Tatyana Zhirkova, is in great shape and training is going according to plan. However, the championship being held at home has made her feel a bit nervous. Tatyana Zhirkova believes that the home advantage will help Nadya But in her quest for victory.

The "Triumph" Sports Training Center is providing support and organising camps for the athletes participating in the ultramarathon. The public is invited to come and cheer for the athletes, creating an electric atmosphere on the day of the race.

The Russian Championship in Yakutsk is scheduled for three weeks from the date of the ultramarathon, providing a unique opportunity to witness both events. Nadya But has participated in three national championships, winning twice and coming second last year.

This historic event marks a significant milestone for athletics in Yakutia's republic, and it is a testament to the growing popularity of ultramarathons in Siberia. The ultramarathon is scheduled to take place just before Knowledge Day, making it a perfect way to celebrate the start of a new academic year.
