Announcement of an upcoming webinar regarding the Olympics has been made

In an effort to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Japan in the international community, a webinar series titled "Why Resilience Matters: How Adversity Molds Us" is set to discuss updates on the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020. The webinar, scheduled for December 2 at 5 pm (PST) / December 3, 2020 at 10 am (JST), will be co-presented by our website Los Angeles, the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles, and the Japan America Society of Southern California (JASSC).

David Ono, an award-winning anchor of ABC7 Eyewitness News at 4pm and 6pm, KDOC-TV at 7pm, and a respected journalist who has witnessed and covered historical events worldwide, including Hurricane Katrina, Haiti's earthquake, and Japan's tsunami, will moderate the event.

Among the distinguished participants are Apolo Ohno, the most decorated US Winter Olympian, who has had a successful career as an Olympic speed skater. Kanoa Igarashi, a professional surfer and 2020 Tokyo Olympics representative, will also join the discussion, bringing his experience and insights from the sporting world. Aaron Phillip Wolf, a Judoka and 2017 World Judo Championship Gold Medalist, will also be present, sharing his stories of resilience and triumph.

The webinar, titled "Facing Setbacks Like a Champion," will focus on athletes and the competitor's mindset, offering a unique perspective on the resilience required to overcome adversity and achieve success in the face of challenges.

Our website Los Angeles, an innovative project with three hubs, conceived by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is located at 6801 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028. The website is www.our website, and it offers a place of new discovery for those seeking to learn more about Japan and its rich culture.

JASSC, founded in 1909, was established to build relationships between the people of Japan and America. The organisation is supported by 150 Japanese and American corporate members and over a thousand individual members.
