Announced Titles at Nintendo Indie World 2025: Mina the Hollower, Contains Explicit Content, and Additional Reveals
Nintendo Indie World 2025 Showcase Unveils a Rich Lineup of Indie Games for Switch 2
The Nintendo Indie World 2025 showcase, announced on August 5 and aired on August 7, revealed a diverse and exciting slate of indie games set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 this holiday season and beyond.
Kicking off the showcase was the announcement of "Mina the Hollower," a Game Boy Color-inspired platformer from Yacht Club Games, the developers behind the beloved Shovel Knight series. The game is scheduled for release on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 31, 2025, with a free demo available from August 8. A dazzling trailer showcased Mina's agile movements and captivating art style during the Indie World 2025 showcase.
Another highly anticipated title unveiled during the showcase is "Glacier," a far-future survival RPG that will be a timed Switch 2 exclusive this holiday season. Players assume the role of a Twi, a new underwater bird-creature, exploring the frozen deep ocean of Earth, with the primary objective to protect the ocean.
"Neverway," a dark take on the cozy farming sim genre, is being developed by former Celeste devs and is scheduled for release in 2026. "Ultimate Sheep Raccoon," a game for chaotic multiplayer fun, is also set for release on the Switch 2.
"Is This Seat Taken?" is a puzzle game that asks players to find the appropriate seat for every character, available now. "Herdlings," a game where players lead a band of fuzzy monsters across stunning vistas, is set for release on August 21.
A new metroidvania game titled "Well Dweller" was announced for 2026, while a new game called "Ball x Pit," a brick-breaker roguelike, was announced for release this fall on both Switch and Switch 2, developed by a developer with a lemon on his head.
A few surprising new announcements were made during the showcase, including "Content Warning," a game expected to be available on the Switch 2 in 2026. The Indie World showcase concluded with a sizzle reel of several previously announced or released indie games.
It's worth noting that the last Nintendo Direct was a partner showcase that featured third-party announcements for the Switch 2. However, no news about anticipated titles such as Silksong or Hades 2 was announced during the Indie World 2025 showcase.
Little Kitty, Big City is set to receive a big picture update and will be available on the Switch 2 later this year. A free content update for the game was also announced for this year.
Indie World showcases are dedicated exclusively to games from smaller teams, providing a platform for these creators to showcase their unique and innovative titles to a broader audience. With the Nintendo Switch 2's powerful hardware, these indie games are set to shine like never before.
