Anne Hathaway's upcoming film The Devil Wears Prada 2 has a new romantic lead – a fresh cast member has been announced.
The highly-anticipated sequel to the iconic film The Devil Wears Prada is officially in production, and the star-studded cast list has made waves in the entertainment industry.
Meryl Streep will reprise her role as the formidable editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, joined by Anne Hathaway as the lead character Andy Sachs. Emily Blunt will return as Emily Charlton, Priestly's overworked assistant, and Stanley Tucci will once again portray the creative director Nigel Kipling.
Joining the original cast are a host of new faces. Kenneth Branagh will play Miranda Priestly's new husband, bringing his charm to the silver screen. Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Helen J. Shen, Conrad Ricamor, Caleb Hearon, Rachel Bloom, Patrick Brammall, and Sydney Sweeney have also been added to the ensemble.
Tibor Feldman is reprising his role as Irv Ravitz, the chairman of Elias-Clarke, adding a touch of familiarity to the new cast.
The filming of The Devil Wears Prada 2 is underway, with Australian actor Patrick Brammall currently filming a night-time restaurant scene.
The release date of the sequel has been set for May 1, 2026, which coincides with next year's Met Gala. Fans of the original film will have to wait a little longer to see the continuation of the story, but the promise of an impressive cast and a return to the glamorous world of fashion is enough to keep them eagerly awaiting its premiere.
Unfortunately, Adrien Grenier, who previously played Andy Sachs' boyfriend Nate, will not be returning to the franchise for The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Directed again by David Frankel, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to be a must-watch for fans of the original film and newcomers alike.
