Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle Breaks Anime Ticket Sales Records

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle, the highly anticipated anime film, is set to premiere in theaters across the United States on September 12. However, the film has already made history with its impressive ticket sales, earning the title of the best first-day ticket preseller for an anime movie of all time on Fandango.

The film surpassed previous records held by Demon Slayer: Mugen Train (2021) and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2022) during its initial 24 hours of ticket sales in the U.S. Infinity Castle's initial presales in the United States were close to $10 million, a significant achievement for the anime industry.

Jerramy Hainline, EVP of Fandango, expressed surprise at the excitement for the film and praised the anime community. "The anime community has shown an incredible level of enthusiasm for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle," Hainline said. "The early ticket sales numbers are a testament to the dedicated fanbase and the enduring popularity of the franchise."

In addition to its success in the U.S., Infinity Castle has also set major records overseas. It is the highest-grossing anime movie ever in South Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand within its first days. The film's success can be attributed to the highly anticipated trilogy finale, contributing to extreme fan anticipation and ticket presales.

The film will be released in both subtitled and English dubbed formats by Crunchyroll. The English dub cast includes Channing Tatum and Rebecca Wang.

Infinity Castle could rival or surpass the domestic debuts of its predecessors, Mugen Train and Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Chapter 1: The Return of Akaza will premiere in theaters in the US on September 12, with special IMAX early screenings for Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate Fan members starting on September 9.

The success of the Demon Slayer franchise—highlighted by over 150 million manga copies sold and blockbuster anime releases—underpins its record-breaking box office ticket sales and presales. The franchise's previous film, Mugen Train, broke numerous box office records in Japan and worldwide, solidifying the franchise's dominant market position.

In summary, the ranking of top first-day ticket presellers for anime movies based on ticket sales data and records is:

| Rank | Movie | Notes | |-------|---------------------------------------|-------------------------------------------| | 1 | Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle | Best ever first-day preseller on Fandango | | 2 | Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – Mugen Train | Previous record holder, highest-grossing film in Japan | | 3 | Jujutsu Kaisen 0 | Strong presales but below Demon Slayer titles |

These rankings illustrate the recent dominance of the Demon Slayer franchise in anime theatrical ticket sales globally. Fans eagerly await the release of Infinity Castle in theaters on September 12.
