Animated Project in Progress: Sony Devises Spider-Pank, a Spider-Man character with a cousin and Native American origins.
In the world of animated superhero films, excitement is building as Sony prepares to delve deeper into the Spider-Verse. The upcoming spin-off will focus on Spider-Punk (Hobie Brown), a character introduced in Across the Spider-Verse and voiced by Daniel Kaluuya.
Kaluuya is set to co-write and direct this new Spider-Punk film, and may also reprise his voice role. The story is expected to delve deeper into Spider-Punk’s life and universe, offering a darker but musically vibrant take on the character who inspired Miles Morales within the Spider-Verse.

The release date for the film has not been officially confirmed yet, but it’s known that this Spider-Punk spin-off will come after Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is still in development.

Another spin-off, featuring Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir, is slated for release on Prime Video in 2026, implying that the Spider-Punk movie will likely follow or be near that timeframe.
Meanwhile, fans of the popular animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will be pleased to hear that a new season is in production. The series, which follows the adventures of Spider-Man in a world where superheroism is intertwined with punk culture and anarchism, is known for its distinctive style and character, Miles Morales, who is recognised by his distinctive appearance, which includes a leather jacket, spikes, a guitar, and a mohawk mask.
In addition, a live-action film titled Spider-Man: New Day with Tom Holland is in development, adding to the growing excitement surrounding the Spider-Man franchise.
