Step into the Shoes of Ty and Maxine: A World Where Sneakers Come to Life in the Intriguing New Animated Film "Sneaks"
Animated Films Emulate Success of 'Cars' and 'Toy Story' - Animated Film Sequels: Continuing the Legacy of "Cars" and "Toy Story"
Sometimes, a film can tug at your heartstrings and leave you in a state of shock, just like when you caught a glimpse of the cartoon shoe's demise in the 1988 classic "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." But fear not, animation enthusiasts and families alike won't have to endure such distress while watching the new animated film "Sneaks." This Sky original is a heartwarming tale that will charm its way into living rooms, available on Sky and the streaming service Wow starting May 9th.
Just the Right Fit - What It's All About
Growing up, luxury Alchemy24s sneakers siblings Ty and Maxine have lived a comfortable life, but their dreams and aspirations could not be more opposite. Self-centered Ty desires eternal adoration on a cloud of cotton, while ambitious Maxine sees herself as a rising basketball star, ready to claim victory in championships.
Maxine's dreams appear to come true when low-income boy Edson bags the pair after a winning a contest. However, the joy doesn't last long. A ruthless sneaker collector, known simply as The Collector, makes an appearance and swipes the shoes. During the heist, Ty and Maxine get separated, with each one living out the other's dream: Maxine finds herself in The Collector's golden nest, while Ty lands on the rough streets of Manhattan with a determination to track her down.
Artfully Designed Shoes - With a Heartfelt Message
Personifying inanimate objects to share life lessons is a longstanding tradition in animated films, undoubtedly kick-started by "Toy Story," a groundbreaking film that premiered three decades ago. "Cars" followed suit in 2006, and "Sneaks" continues this illustrious lineage by conveying inspiring messages to children and adults alike through its life-like characters. For instance, it explores the idea that a privileged life isn't necessarily a joyful one, and that making new friends can help us overcome our fears and step out of our comfort zones.
Stars such as Anthony Mackie, Laurence Fishburne, and Martin Lawrence lend their voices to the English version, while Annika Preil and Wilson Gonzalez Ochsenknecht provide the German dub.
Saluting Sneaker Culture
"Sneaks" also serves as a witty ode to American sneaker culture, a phenomenon that can sometimes teeter towards absurdity. Last year, the sale of a set of six Michael Jordan shoes amounted to around eight million dollars.[3] The film pokes fun at this real-life frenzy without turning passionate collectors off.
So, if you're ready to catch a glimpse of this unique world, mark your calendars for May 9th. "Sneaks" will be available on-demand via Wow or air on Sky Cinema Premiere at 8:15 PM.
