Starting from July 25, 2025, audiences worldwide can prepare for an exciting journey as the animated epic mythological action film, Mahavatar Narsimha, makes its way to Netflix. This film, produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai under the banner of Kleem Productions, and presented by Hombale Films, promises to be a visual spectacle.
Mahavatar Narsimha is a captivating tale that revolves around Prahlada, a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu, who faces opposition from his atheist father, Hiranyakashipu. When all hope seems lost, Lord Vishnu descends on Earth in the form of half-man, half-lion form Narsimha to protect Prahlada.
This film, directed by Ashwin Kumar, has already created a stir in the Indian film industry. It has become the highest-grossing Indian animated film, grossing Rs 250 crore net in India and Rs 325 crore worldwide. In fact, it is the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of the year, after Chhaava, Saiyaara, and Coolie.
Netflix has shared the announcement poster for Mahavatar Narsimha on its social media handles, hinting at its upcoming release. From September 19, 2025, Mahavatar Narsimha will be available for streaming on Netflix in five Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The success of Mahavatar Narsimha marks the beginning of the planned seven-part Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, based on the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. The company responsible for producing these films is Color Planet Studios, along with Little Hippo Studios and Pictorial FX.
The next instalments in this universe include Mahavatar Parshuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), Mahavatar Dwarkadhish (2031), Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033), Mahavatar Kalki Part 1 (2035), and Mahavatar Kalki Part 2 (2037).
