In a thrilling inter-city matchup, the Los Angeles Angels emerged victorious over the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, securing a 7-4 win on Tuesday night. The Angels have now won all four games in this season's Freeway Series, maintaining their strong form against their local rivals.

The Angels' offense was sparked by a series of timely hits. Mike Trout contributed with a two-run single, while Yoán Moncada and Gustavo Campero each drove in runs in the 5th inning. Zach Neto, who started the game with an 8th leadoff home run, added another homer in the 6th inning.

Shohei Ohtani, currently on a nine-game hitting streak, extended his impressive run with a solo home run in the 8th inning, marking his third straight game with a home run. Ohtani's powerful performance this season has seen him hit 44 home runs so far, with his latest adding to his impressive tally.

The Dodgers' offensive push was led by Max Muncy, who hit a three-run homer, but it wasn't enough to overturn the Angels' lead. The Dodgers' struggles have been evident since the All-Star break, with a record of 10-12 in this period. Their lead over San Diego in the NL West has slipped to just one game as a result.

On the mound, José Soriano was the standout performer for the Angels. He pitched six scoreless innings, allowing only two singles and two walks, demonstrating a solid display of control and effectiveness. Unfortunately, Dodgers starter Yamamoto had a poor outing, yielding six runs in 4.2 innings.

Looking ahead, the Dodgers will be hoping to bounce back when they face the Angels again on Tuesday. Emmet Sheehan (3-2, 3.00 ERA) will start for the Dodgers, aiming to lead them to a much-needed victory. The Angels, meanwhile, will open with Victor Mederos in a bullpen game, as they look to continue their impressive form against their rivals.
