Angelina Jolie intends to sell her Los Angeles residence and potentially relocate overseas following the projected lifting of custody restrictions with Brad Pitt, according to a recent report.
Angelina Jolie to Move Abroad Once Twins Turn 18
After a long and acrimonious custody battle with ex-husband Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie is preparing to move overseas, according to reports. The actress and humanitarian has been tied down to Los Angeles due to the custody arrangement but is now making plans to sell her historic Los Angeles estate and relocate to another country once the custody restriction expires when her twins, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 in July 2026.
Jolie has stated that she never wanted to live full time in Los Angeles but was required to do so because of the custody arrangement with Pitt. After their divorce was finalized in December 2024, she has expressed a desire to leave Los Angeles and spend a lot of time in Cambodia or other locations abroad. Sources report she is eyeing several overseas locations and looks forward to regaining privacy and freedom to live elsewhere once her twins reach adulthood.
The actress bought the historic Cecil B. DeMille estate in LA in 2017 primarily because of its proximity to Brad Pitt but is now making preparations to sell it ahead of her move. Jolie has been trying hard to be light after a dark time and is reportedly saying goodbye to Hollywood.
Jolie and Pitt, who were together for 12 years and married for two before she filed for divorce in 2016, share six children. The actress does not speak ill of Pitt publicly or privately and walked the 2025 Golden Globe Awards carpet with her daughter Zahara.
After the custody battle ended with a settlement last December, Jolie has been focusing on finding peace and healing for her family. She is planning to travel the world after leaving Los Angeles, with Cambodia, where Maddox was adopted, being one of her intended destinations.
This news was first reported by Page Six, with Christina Dugan Ramirez, an entertainment writer for our website Digital, providing updates on the matter. Jolie's lawyer, James Simon, has also confirmed that the actress has been searching for privacy for her big family.
Sources close to the matter mention that Jolie will visit her family members wherever they may be in the world. It seems that the actress is looking forward to starting a new chapter in her life once her twins turn 18.
