Brazilian football icon Zico believes Carlo Ancelotti is the ideal choice to revitalize Brazil's national team, citing the Italian coach's knack for nurturing Brazilian talent with AFP.

Ancelotti, according to Zico, is the ideal coach to guide Brazil to summit success once again.

Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti, the first non-Brazilian to coach the national football team in six decades, vows to guide the five-time World Cup champions to victory next year.

Ancelotti, who nurtured young talents like Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid, is believed to be the ideal candidate for the job by Zico, a former Brazilian star and advisor to Kashima Antlers in Japan. Zico appreciates Ancelotti's extensive experience with Brazilian players at various clubs and his shared affinity for the Brazilian football philosophy.

The 65-year-old Ancelotti boasts five Champions League titles and a decorated coaching career with clubs like AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid. This is his first venture as a national team coach.

Brazilian coaches have been in decline worldwide, according to Zico, who coached in several countries himself. He contends that the Brazilian football federation had no other option but to recruit a top-tier coach like Ancelotti to manage the national team.

Despite currently fourth in the South American qualifying table, Brazil needs to secure a spot in the upcoming World Cup tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The team, under Ancelotti, has some challenging fixtures ahead, with games against Ecuador and Bolivia yet to be played in qualifying.

Zico, however, expresses optimism, stating that Brazil could emerge as a strong contender for the trophy if Ancelotti delivers a successful short-term tenure.
