Anapa leaders unite to boost beach safety and tourism ahead of summer
An off-site meeting in Anapa brought together regional leaders to discuss beach safety and tourism support. Held by Vice Governor Alexander Ruppel, the session included updates on sand replenishment tests and financial aid for local resorts. Officials also reviewed plans to expand children's holiday programmes after a successful 2025 season.
The meeting saw participation from Anapa Mayor Svetlana Maslova, legislators, Rospotrebnadzor officials, and business leaders. A key decision was made to exclude pebble beaches from the hazardous zone, allowing the city to prepare for the upcoming resort season. Nadezhda Peryakina, Deputy Head of Rospotrebnadzor's Krasnodar office, confirmed these beaches meet safety standards, provided conditions remain stable.
Samples from beaches involved in a sand replenishment pilot have been collected, with results due next week. If successful, local authorities and environmental agencies plan to restore 15 additional beach sections over the coming years. Mayor Maslova welcomed the move, calling it vital for tourism planning.
Elena Logunova, Deputy Minister of Resorts, Tourism, and Olympic Legacy, detailed support measures for Anapa's resort sector. These included deferred taxes, subsidies, low-interest loans, and extended project deadlines, benefiting over 80 organisations. The region also reported hosting nearly 9,000 children from Belgorod in 2025, with plans to expand the initiative to other areas.
The meeting concluded with leaders pledging to join beach sand replenishment efforts if test results prove positive. Financial relief and safety certifications aim to boost Anapa's tourism industry ahead of the summer season. Expanded holiday programmes and beach upgrades are expected to draw more visitors in the years ahead.
