The highly anticipated Tour de France is set to begin this summer, and British cycling team Ineos Grenadiers is gearing up for the three-week race with a strong lineup of riders. Among them is the newly crowned British champion, Sam Watson, who will join the team for the first time in the Tour de France.

Carlos Rodríguez, who recovered from a crash in February and has been building back his form, will lead the team as they race across 3338.8 kms of French soil. Rodríguez aims for a top-10 finish at the Tour de France for a third time in a row and is determined to line up at the event in his best form in July.

The team will also be supported by experienced riders such as Geraint Thomas, the team's primary leader and a seasoned veteran, aiming for the overall classification. Thomas, who is looking forward to his 14th Tour de France, considers it his favorite race. This year, however, will be Thomas's final Tour de France as he has announced his retirement at the end of the year.

Thomas will support Rodríguez in his final edition of the Tour de France, while also playing an important role in the team during the race. Adam Yates, a strong climber and a potential GC contender, will provide additional support to Thomas. Tao Geoghegan Hart, a versatile rider who can contribute in the mountains and on the flatter stages, will also be part of the team.

Tom Pidcock, a young and talented rider, capable of competing in various terrains, and Luke Rowe, a critical domestique with experience in supporting the team leaders, will round out the team. Filippo Ganna, a time trial specialist, and Jonathan Castroviejo, another experienced domestique known for his strong support in the mountains, will also be on the roster. Ben Turner, a young rider with potential for development, will contribute to the team's overall performance.

Ineos Grenadiers in 2022 focused on a balanced approach, combining veteran experience with young talent to achieve their goals. Tobias Foss, Watson, and Thymen Arensman will be making their debuts in the Tour de France. The team aims to compete over three weeks and handle whatever the race throws at them, with the ultimate goal of achieving success in both the GC battle and stage wins.

Michał Kwiatkowski, who has raced all but two Tours for Ineos since 2016, is not included in the team for this year's Tour de France. Rodríguez has managed to prepare well with some high-quality training and has good racing in the legs, ready to take on the challenge of the Tour de France.

According to team performance director Dr. Scott Drawer, the team has a strong and experienced group of riders for the Tour de France. The Tour de France will be a spectacle for the fans, according to Rodríguez, and Thomas is excited to get to Lille and into the spirit of the event, which he considers a rollercoaster of an event. The team is eager to embark on this iconic race and compete for the coveted yellow jersey.

Sports enthusiasts anticipate the 2022 Tour de France, as Ineos Grenadiers bolster their roster with experienced riders like Geraint Thomas and rising stars such as Sam Watson, who will make his Tour de France debut. The team aims to excel over three weeks, competing in both the general classification battle and pursuing stage wins, ultimately seeking to claim the coveted yellow jersey.
