Prepare for an exciting carnival celebration in Dillweißenstein as the annual Fasnetsumzug returns to the Ludwigsplatz next Saturday, February 10, 2024. This traditional event, featuring colourful costumes, music, and floats, is a highlight of the town's calendar.

Pre-sale tickets for the event are now available at several locations, including Edeka Wachtler, Nah&Gut Wachtler, Gänseblümchen Floristik, Bookstore Uwe Mumm, Bakery Wiskandt, Restaurant Romulus & Remus, Beverages Hüttinger, Butchery Ast, Tourist Information at the Schlossberg, and the Ticket Office in the Jewellery Worlds. Tickets cost 2.50 EUR each, with a special offer for the "Edeka-Wachtler-Tribune" on the Ludwigsplatz for 14 EUR, which includes a "welcome drink" of sparkling wine.

Every entrance ticket also serves as a 3-Euro ticket for the Edeka market on the Ludwigsplatz. Visitors can expect a variety of food and drink stands at the Ludwigsplatz and along the parade route, offering grills, pasta, langos, waffles, burgers, and more.

The mix of participants in the Dillweißenstein Fasnetsumzug includes colourful Lindwurm, theme foot groups, music, motive wagons, and "Grausamen Barbara II", the cannon belonging to the Dillweißenstein Fasnet. The turning and mood on the square were considered the "highlight" of the parade in 2023.

Bettina Rusczyk, treasurer of the parade, commented on the reduced entrance fee during pre-sale, stating, "We want to make the Fasnetsumzug accessible to as many people as possible." Daniel Ast, president of the parade, aims to build on the success of the Ludwigsplatz integration, which was a resounding success in 2023.

The Fasnetsumzug traditionally ends with the burning of the snowman on the Ludwigsplatz. For those interested in attending, it is recommended to contact local event organisers, check local news sources, or follow local event or community groups on social media platforms for updates and announcements.
