The Melvins to Rock Berlin: A Night of Controlled Chaos

The Melvins, a legendary rock band with over 40 years of existence, are set to perform in Berlin on Thursday, promising an evening of music that defies genre clichés and delves into abstract noise.

This performance is not part of the Controlled Chaos Music Festival, an all-ages indoor music event happening on July 5, 2025, in Chilliwack, British Columbia. The Berlin event will take place at Metropol, Nollendorfplatz.

Steven McDonald, a reliable bassist for the band since 2016, will be joining the lineup. The Melvins will bring their latest album, "Thunderball," released in April, to the Berlin stage.

Meanwhile, another event named 'Convulsismo #2' is taking place at Subversiv e.V., supporting the anarchist group Assembly in Kharkiv. The theme of this event is 'Noise and Anti-militarism,' with the Berlin duo Hure contributing brutal digital punk.

In a separate concert, the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España under Nuno Coelho will perform the German premiere of Fabià Santcovsky's violin concerto at the Young Euro Classic festival. The concert is scheduled for the 3rd of August at 19:00, with ticket prices ranging from 17-40 €.

Before the Melvins take the stage, audiences can expect a warm-up from Lucas from Paris, who will provide raw ambient music. The industrial noise of Samin Son & Nacasat will then lead into the main act.

Breakcore DJ sets of Zombieflesheater and CRi will provide some rhythmic loosening for those seeking a pre-concert dance.

In addition to music, the Controlled Chaos Music Festival offers on-site tattooing, food and drink vendors, a local artist and vendor market, an indoor skate park, backstage food, and a kid zone with games and face painting.

Ticket prices for the Berlin Melvins performance are 37 €. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to experience The Melvins' genre-bending music live in Berlin.

The night in Berlin promises a diverse lineup with The Melvins, scheduled to deliver an evening of entertainment that encompasses their signature music blending rock, noise, and genre clichés.

The Melvins' performance in Berlin will reflect their latest album, "Thunderball", showcasing their music live on stage.
