American high school golfer representing Maryland to participate in 2025's PGA Junior Ryder Cup with Team USA
The highly talented 17-year-old junior golfer, Zoe Cusack, hailing from Potomac, Maryland, is all set to make her debut at the 2025 U.S. Junior Ryder Cup. A promising athlete with a bright future, Zoe has secured a spot on Team USA for the prestigious event.
Zoe Cusack, an incoming high school senior at Winston Churchill High School, has verbally committed to the University of Virginia for college golf. Her key achievements leading into the Ryder Cup include a runner-up finish at the 2025 Girls’ Junior PGA Championship, a victory at the Maryland Girls’ Junior Amateur in June 2025, and a win at the AJGA Junior event in Indiana in April 2025.
Cusack's coach, John Scott Rattan, PGA, at Congressional Country Club, has seen her development since she started playing golf around age five. Her commitment to the sport grew stronger during her teenage years.
The 2025 U.S. Junior Ryder Cup will take place at two different locations, with the Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, New York, and Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York, hosting the tournament. Bethpage Black, the venue for the 45th Ryder Cup, will mark the first time it hosts the Junior Ryder Cup singles matches.
The format of the 2025 U.S. Junior Ryder Cup resembles that of the PGA's Ryder Cup, where Team USA will compete against their European counterparts. The tournament will feature two days of foursomes and four-ball matches, with the dates set for Sept. 23-25.
Zoe Cusack is eager to compete as part of a team and values the opportunity to make new friends and play with other people in the Junior Ryder Cup. She is determined to help win the Junior Ryder Cup for the U.S. and is looking forward to the variety of shots in golf and the most rewarding part of the sport - putting.
In the near future, Zoe's potential impact in the Junior Ryder Cup could pave the way for a successful transition to higher-level amateur or collegiate golf competitions. She has recently secured a spot on the University of Virginia's Women’s Golf team, joining in the Fall of 2026.
